    Press Release


    The poll for the Bye-election to Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly
    from 83.Yercaud (ST) Assembly Constituency was peaceful. The above
    poll was monitored by the CEOs office as well as District Election
    Officers office in Salem through the web casting / video coverage of the
    proceedings in all polling stations, as well as through SMS based poll
    monitoring system.
    The tentative poll percentage for the above bye-election is
    89.24%. This is only a tentative figure and the final figure would be
    known on examination of documents received from the polling stations.
    After closure of poll, the polled EVMs would be stored in the
    strong room of the counting centre located in CSI Polytechnic at
    Hasthampatti, Salem. The inner perimeter of the counting centre would
    be guarded by the Central Armed Police Force.
    The scrutiny of 17A Register and other connected documents will
    be done by the Observer and Returning Officer at 11.00 a.m. on
    5.12.2013.
