Building Character
Be more Awesome! I showed a Kid
President Video to students about how
we can all be more awesome. Everyone
has some awesome in them, but how
can we improve it? What can we do to
make ourselves better? Ask your
student!
Random Acts of Kindness: We talked
about how helping others can be
contagious. You help someone and
show good character and they might do
the same. We are trying to do random
acts of kindness during the week. Then
we will share on our kindness wall
what we did. Spreading kindness and
positivity is what we like to do in our
room!
Instagram Stars! All of my students are
stars and I love to see their bright and
shiny faces everyday at school. They are

Update from Miss Trepp
There have been a lot of exciting things happening in our room
this past month! The Sid dance has been introduced to our
students as a brain break activity and a way to get pumped up
for class. Ask your student to show you some of the dance
moves! My student teaching experience here has helped me
grow so significantly that I cant wait to have my own
classroom! I wish I could stay here forever! These students are
awesome! This class will always be my first and greatest class I
have ever taught. Lets see what happens in my last four weeks
of student teaching here at the Webster City Middle School.

Reading and Math with
Miss Trepp
This is what we have been doing in
Reading/Language Arts, Math, and Intervention
Time in our classroom!
Holes by Louis Sachar
We are getting to the 10
th
chapter of Holes by Louis
Sachar. The students love the story of Stanley Yelnats.
Ask your student about what is so special about his
first and last name! With this book there are tons of
new vocabulary words that we have learned. Also, we
are working with a new literary term called Flashback!
6 Traits of Writing Project #1
This project is going very well! Students are
brainstorming, writing events in chronological order,
writing rough drafts, writing final drafts, and making
an iMovie trailer! We are in the final stage of making
the iMovie. I cant wait to see how they turn out!
Math Notebooks and Trashketball
We have created Math Notebooks this year that will
serve as a place to take notes, do practice problems,
and study guide for math. We are starting from the
basics and they are teaching me what they know.
When we get through notes and practice problems we
get to play a new game I made up called Trashketball!
They love it!
MAP Testing
Students have been MAPS testing this week. MAPS
stands for Measure of Academic Progress. We will test
them now to see where they are at the beginning of the
year and then again in the Spring to see how they have
grown! Everyone has been trying their hardest. So, I
have been going to P.E. with students, giving prizes,
and doing the Sid Dance as a reward for their hard
work. We finished up testing this week! Awesome!
