The boys and the raft

One evening two boys were playing on a raft in

a river. They lived in a village near some mountains.
Just after six oclock there was a storm in the
mountains. The boys saw flashes of lightning and
heard a lot of thunder.
The boys were not worried because the storm
was some miles away. Later on they had a surprise.
The rain ran down the mountains and into the river.
A big wave came down the river and hit the raft.
Luckily it lifted the raft and the boys up on to
the river-bank. The boys were not hurt. They ran
to the village to warn the people that the river
might flood their houses.
