Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with honor and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed
principal of Powell GT Magnet Elementary School. I earned my B.S. degree in Elementary &
Kindergarten Education from The Pennsylvania State University. I earned my Masters degree in School
Administration from N.C. State University, where I continue my education as I pursue my doctorate. I
have been an educator for the past 14 years. I began my career as a 3
rd
grade teacher and later served as
an elementary school assistant principal. I am AIG certified and have 7 years experience working as an
administrator in GT Magnet schools. I have had opportunities to work with students in some capacity
from grades K-8. I am married with two children, ages nine and six. My wife is also an educator.

As principal, I will strive to keep Powell students at the forefront of every decision. It is important to me
that our school and community work together to meet the needs of all of our students. I will work
diligently to ensure that all students enjoy a productive, positive experience while attending Powell
Elementary. I am looking forward to getting to know the students, families, teachers, and learning more
about what makes Powell Elementary such a special place!

Finally, my philosophy is to treat all students like I want my own children to be treated. I am committed,
first and foremost, to the academic, social and emotional development of all the students who attend
Powell Elementary, and I will treat your children with the respect and dignity they deserve.

Again, I look forward to working with all Powell families and staff as we focus on student learning and
achievement.
