Located 290 km southwest of Mandalay and 700 km north of

Yangon, Bagan is an ancient city located in the Mandalay
Region of Myanmar on the Irrawaddy River. It is home to the
largest and densest concentration of Buddhist temples,
pagodas, stupas and ruins in the world with many dating from
the 11th and 12th centuries. Over 3,300 of these temples
survived to the present day, making it one of the most
signicant archaeological sites in SE Asia and the world.
