The article entitled Moto 360 review: An elegant modern timepiece that keeps me
updated all day long, was written by Matthew Miller and published to Zdnet on September 10,
2014. Throughout this article, Miller discusses the design and specifications of the newly
launched Motorola timepiece as the company prefers to call it. The 49 gram, 1.56 LCD display
screened, circular faced watch is equipped with a number of hardware and software components
that make it so elegant. One being its Gorilla glass 3 shielded face which both promotes its clear
visual exhibit and makes it very resistant to any scratches and grazes. Another being the leather
wristband that not only adds a sense of class to the watch, but can also be swapped with other
bands of ones personal preference. In reference to its software, the Moto 360 has an internal
store of 4GB and 512 MB in random-access memory space. In addition, the Moto 360 also has
sensors prominent in the functions of the pedometer and heart rate monitor, Bluetooth capability,
long battery life, water resistance and a host of other utilities.
In an additional Internet search, I found two other articles on the recently launched
Motorola smartwatch. The articles entitled Motorola Moto 360: What Its Like to Use the
Coolest Smart Watch of the Year and Moto 360 specs, batter charging and compatibility were
found using the Yahoo and Google search engines. Throughout each article, the writers Carl
Mangis and Matthew Swider cover the design of the Moto 360. They both pinpoint its circular
face which distinguishes it from other smartwatches. They both also highlight the Gorilla glass
material that the watch is made of and its compatibility with Android phones. For the most part,
both articles were very similar, in their discussion of the new watch. Neither search engine was
better than the other. The reason being that they both review the same information.

important to the emerging technology topic that I am researching because it discusses a new
addition to the technology world. The article was written as a review of the Moto 360 to tell
potential buyers of his/her own experiences with the new invention. For that reason, the
information is trustworthy. S/he described the watch as looking like a smartphone that has been
made especially for your wrist. S/he admired the watch primarily because of its unique
appearance and fit. S/he stated in the article that the watch was very easy and comfortable to
wear due to its sleek design. The writer also briefly lists some of the functions that the watch can
perform including: notifying you of emails, text messages, voice calls, weather alerts and
information from social networking sites and monitoring your heart rate and number of steps
youve taken throughout the day. According to Carol Mangis, the Moto 360, is in fact the watch
to invest in this season.
Using the keywords: Motorola smartwatch on CCBCs library database, I found an article
with the title Motorolas Circular Smartwatch written by Anick Jesdanun. A recent article
focusing on the Moto 360 was somewhat difficult to find on CCBCs library database. The
majority of the article discussing the smartwatch are ones from earlier months discussing the
arrival of the new invention. Nevertheless, one article was found. Similar to Carol Mangis
Internet article, this reading focusses on the circular frame of the watch. This article, however,
places emphases on using the shape of the watches frame to win over consumers. Unlike other
smartwatches, the Moto 360s circular frame sets it apart from others, just as Motorola was
hoping. The watch was made with a traditional design to attract more buyers and increase sales
for the Motorola company. Carol Mangis also discussed in her article how consumers were

drawn to the Moto 360 because of its unique shape. Both articles emphasized in different ways
the financial and other benefits of the design of Moto 360.
