SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS NEEDED

The Libertyville Police Department is looking for School Crossing Guards to help our
children safely cross intersections in our school district.

Crossing Guards must be available for 1 hour in the morning before school, and 1 hour
in the afternoon after school, Monday thru Friday during the school year. These are
paid part-time positions with the Village of Libertyville. Guards are assigned to specific
intersections for the duration of the school year and must be able to provide their own
transportation to and from their assigned intersection.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, successfully pass a background check
prior to employment, have good eyesight and hearing, and be capable of standing for
up to an hour in all weather conditions.

Crossing Guards must be pleasant, courteous, and helpful to all members of our
community. Parents, grandparents, and retirees are encouraged to join our team of
dedicated professionals who help ensure the safety of children in our community.

They provide safety for your children at school crossings
They escort children across the street going to and from school
They help prevent children from crossing in unsafe traffic conditions
They observe and report suspicious vehicles or persons around the school area
