LuvSolarleveragestwogrowthindustries:peertopeerlendingandsolarphotovoltaics.The
LuvSolarOnlineLendingandInvestmentPlatformwillprovideanavenueforthosewith
capitaltoinvestinsolarenergygeneration.Capitalinvestedintheplatformwillbeusedto
commissionsolarpanelsonarecipient'shomethroughastructuredloanprogram.
Ourbusinessaimstoempowertheindividualtocontroltheirownenergyandreduce
environmentalimpacts.ThroughtheLuvSolarOnlinePlatform,wecapitalizeonsocialand
environmentaltrendstomatchthosepeoplewithcapitallivinginurbanapartments(where
solarpanelscannotbeused)withhomeownersinsuburbanorruralregionsthatwouldliketo
installsolarpanelsbutmaynothaveaccesstofinance.

LuvSolarprovidesproductsintheformofinvestmentsandsolarpanelstothevarious
customersegments.Inlookingatthescopeofthebusiness,itisimportanttoconsiderthe
primaryproductsandservicesprovided.

TheEMSlookstoincludesolarinstallersassolarpanelsareadirectproductprovidedtothe
solarrecipients.LuvSolarhastheabilitytochoosesolarinstallersbasedoncertification,
installationpractices,hiringprocesses,etc.Further,LuvSolarcanchoosethetypeofsolar
panelstosourcewhichmeetenvironmentalandsocialgoalssetforthbythecompany.
LuvSolarinteractswithothersystems,namelyfinancialandlegislativebodies,thatimpactthe
trajectoryofthecompany.ForthescopeoftheEMS,theseregulatingbodiesareincluded
onlysomuchastoensureLuvSolarmeetsallregulatoryrequirements.
III. EnvironmentalAspects
A. Identification
ThissectionwillidentifydirectandindirectenvironmentalaspectsofLuvSolarsactivities.
Directaspectsarethosearisingfromactivitiesinternaltothecompany,whileindirectare
thoseoccurringasaresultofthecompanysoperationsbutoutsidethedirectcontrolofthe
company.Itisimportanttonotethatbycallingthemindirect,LuvSolardoesnotimplythat
theseaspectsarebeyondtheinfluenceofthecompany,butratherthattheyarenotunder
directcontrol.
ThedirectenvironmentalaspectsofLuvSolararethegreenhousegas(GHG)emissions
generatedthroughitsactivities.Thesestemfromtheproductionofelectricityconsumed
withintheoffice,aswellasrunningtheserverhostingtheonlineplatform.Anotherpractice
generatingemissionsistheplentifulpanEuropeantravelrequiredtokeepintouchwithand
meetnewcustomersandstakeholders.Asthismostlyisbyplane,theGHGemissionsare
considerable.

AsLuvSolardoesnotmanufactureaproduct,butprovidesaservice,thelionsshareofthe
environmentalaspectsareoftenindirect.Theseaspectsaremorevaried,asmanufacturing,
transportinganddisposalofthesolarpanelsareincluded.Addressingtheseaspectsina
chronologicalorderastheyappearinthevaluechain,thefirstenvironmentalaspectstems
fromthemanufacturingofthepanels.Assaid,LuvSolardoesnotproducepanels,butdo
haveaconsiderablepossibilitytoinfluencewhichpanelsareincludedintheircertifiedpanel
scheme.Hence,aspectsofmanufacturesinteractionwiththeenvironmentarelistedhereas
LuvSolarhastheabilitytoinfluenceitsconnectionwithLuvSolarsactivities.Environmental
aspectsofsolarpanelproductionareGHGemissionsfromenergyconsumptionwithin
production,wastegenerationinminingfortherawmaterials,changedlanduseand
degradationofthesurroundingbiosphere,aswellassocialaspects.
Continuingalongthevaluechain,anotheraspectistheemissionsoftransportationofpanels
fromproductionsitetotherecipients.Lastly,attheendoflifeofthepanel,disposalofthe
solarpanelsconstituteanenvironmentalaspectintermsofwaste,somepotentially
hazardous.
AnenvironmentalaspectthathasapositiveimpactisnaturallythereductionofGHG
emissionswhenenablingtherecipientsreplacinggridelectricitywithsolarpower.
B. SignificantAspects
Thesignificantenvironmentalaspectsarethoseaspectsthathavethemostpotencyinterms
ofGHGemissionsandthelargestriskofadversesocialimpacts.Thetwoaspectsthatare
identifiedasmostsignificantaretheemissionsfromairtravelandthoseaspectsconnected
tothesourcingofpanels.Emissionsfromairtravelaremostsignificantastravelingtomeet
potentialandexistingcustomersalloverEuropeisanintegralpartofthebusinessmodelthat
occurswithahighfrequency.Whenitcomestothesourcingofpanels,wastegenerationin
connectiontominingisperceivedasaparticularlynegativeaspectasithasalargeimpact
onboththesurroundingecosystemsaswellonthelocalhumanpopulation.
IV. EnvironmentalLegislation&OtherRequirements
ThescopeandcomplexityoftheLuvSolarbusinessmodelintroducesmuchriskasthe
companyisdependentonthechanginglegislativeenvironmentsurroundingrenewable
energy.LuvSolarpromotesrenewableenergydevelopmentaimedatmeetingtheEuropean
Union(EU)renewableenergytargets.However,membernationsdictatelegislationthat
impactthefeasibilityofsolarphotovoltaicsandthereforetheviabilityofLuvSolar.Legislative
riskcomesfrombothenvironmentallegislationandfinancialregulation.
FinancialLegislation:ThepeertopeerlendingmarketthroughoutEuroperemainsopenand
relativelyundeveloped.AsofOctober,2014,anyoneintheEUovertheageofeighteencan
lendmoneyviapeertopeerlendingschemes.However,inlookingatmarketswherethe
peertopeerlendingmarketsaremoredeveloped,namelytheUnitedStatesandAustralia,
legislationlimitsindividualswithanetworthlessthan$250,000USDtoinvestupto$2,500

USDthroughpeertopeerlendingschemes.ShouldsimilarlegislationbeadoptedintheEU,
theinvestormarketpenetrationwouldbelimited.
EnvironmentalLegislation:TheEUhassetfirmrenewableenergytargetsof20%oftotal
electricityproductionby2020.However,feasibilityofresidentialsolarpowergenerationoften
hingesoncountryspecificenvironmentallegislation.Legislationsetsspecificrenewable
feedintariffs.Ahigherfeedintariffpromotessolarmarketpenetration.Further,legislation
candictatenetmeteringorgrossmetering,schemeswhichdictatesolarpaneldesignand
impactpanelpayoff.Gridparityisalsoofimportance.Marketswherethecurrentelectricity
pricematchesthepricetoproduceelectricityviasolarphotovoltaicsaremorefavorablefor
solarpaneldevelopment.Gridparitycanbeachievedthroughsubsidiesonsolarpanels
whichlowerthecosttoproduceelectricity.
Tostayontopofthechanginglegislative,LuvSolarwillmonitorthelegislativelandscape
internally.Thiswillaideinstrategicdevelopmentofmarkets.Further,LuvSolarwillbea
memberinstitutioninvarioussolarenergyassociationsthroughEuropeandabroadincluding:
EuropeanPhotovoltaicIndustryAssociation(EPIA),EuropeanRenewableEnergyCouncil
(EREC),SwedishSolarEnergyAssociation(SSEA),andSolarEnergyIndustriesAssociation
(SEIA).
Outsideoflegislation,LuvSolaraimstobeindustryleadersbyexceedingindustryand
societalstandards.LuvSolarwillrequiresolarinstallerstogothroughacertificationprocess
toensurecompliance.SocialimpactisattheheartofLuvSolarsvalues.Consideringthe
socialimpactofthecompanysactivitieswillbeparamounttotheoperations.
V. LuvSolarEnvironmentalPolicy
LuvSolariscommittedtoengageinenvironmentalissuesrelatedtoitsbusinessobjectives
andactivities.Asoneofthedrivingforcesinthegreentechindustry,LuvSolaritselfaimsto
contributeitsshareingreeningtheindustrybyconsideringandstrengtheningtheobjectives
statedinthisdocument.Thestatementsmadeinthispolicyshallbesupportedbyevery
employeeofLuvSolaraswellasallcontractorsincludingsuppliersandinstallers.Fromits
employees,LuvSolardemandspersonalresponsibilityandcommitmenttotheobjectives

requirementsregardingtheenvironmentwhicharerelatedtoitsbusinessactivities.
Thisappliesalsoforallotherrequirementssuchasstandardsorvoluntary
commitmentstowhichLuvSolarsubscribes.
Pollutionpreventioncommitment
LuvSolarcommitstoimplementsustainablebusinesspracticesandprocessesthat
helpinreducingwaste(includingrecyclingprocesseswhereapplicable)and
preventingpollutionsuchasGHGemissionscausedbybusinesspractices.This

appliesnotonlyforLuvSolaritselfbutalsoforitssuppliersandothercontractors
withinthesupplychainwiththeaimofdrivingenvironmentalchange.
Environmentalproductstewardship
LuvSolaraimsatcontributingtoenvironmentalconservationthroughofferingand
furtherdevelopingappropriateserviceswhichservethecompanysoverallmissionto
cutglobalGHGemissions.
LuvSolarcommitstostrengthenandcontinuouslydeveloptheproceduresforwaste
managementforproductswithwhichitisdealinginthescopeofitsbusinessand
furthertoalsotakeexternalcontractorsinresponsibilitytomeettheseobjectives.
Socialresponsibility
LuvSolarcommitstominimizethesafetyandhealthrisksforitsemployeesand
commitstoonlyworkingwiththosesuppliers/installersthatvaluethesame
committmenttosocialandworkplaceresponsibility.

LuvSolarstrivestocontinuallyimproveitsenvironmentalmanagementsystemand
performance.
LuvSolarcommitstoenvironmentallysustainablesupplychainmanagementinorder
toimproveenvironmentalprotectionanddrivetheuseofenvironmentallyfriendly
technologies.Itfurthermorestrivestoimprovetheworkingconditionsofcontractors
employeesandtocorrectconditionswithinthesupplychainwherepossibleand
withinLuvSolarsreach.

currentdevelopmentsandisappropriatetothedevelopmentofLuvSolarasa

VI. BeginningsoftheEnvironmentalProgramme
A. Objectivesandprogrammespecifics
LuvSolaraddressesthesignificantenvironmentalaspectsregardingitsfieldofbusiness
throughavarietyofobjectives.
TheGHGemissionscausedbyLuvSolar(mainlycausedbyairtravelassociatedwith
businesstripsofitsemployees)areoffsetbythecompany.Theoffsettingisundertakenby
investinginsolarpanelsonrooftops(LuvSolarscorebusiness)onbuildingsofcivilsociety
organisationsinLundmunicipalityaswellasontherooftopsofsocialhousingprojectswithin
thecommunity.Inordertocalculatetheaggregateyearlygreenhousegasemissions,the
employeesareaskedtologtheirtravelsandsubmitthemtotheChiefFinancialOfficerwho
isinchargeofoverseeingtheoffsettingprocedures
Regardingthesourcingofsolarpanels,LuvSolarconsiderstheinherentissuesassociated
withpanelefficiency,rawmaterialrecoveryforproduction,paneltransportanddistribution,
andtheworkingconditionsassociatedwithmanufacturersandinstallers.LuvSolaraimsat

choosingsolarpanelmanufacturesthat:
limittheuseofofrareearthmetals
produceenvironmentallyfeasibleandwiththelowestpossibleimpactonthe
environment
ensureworkingconditionsthatminimizesecurityandhealthrisksaswellasfair
wages(accordingtocollectivewageagreements).
Inordertominimizethewastethatisrelatedtoitsbusinessactivities,LuvSolardevelopsa
disposalprogrammeforsolarpanelsoncetheyreachtheirendoflifetoensurethatthe
materialsusedinthepanelsarerecycled/reusedtothehighestextentpossible,adheringto
countryandEUregulation.Inthisregard,LuvSolarwillworktogetherwithsolarinstallation
companiesthatareindirectcontactwiththecustomerwhenitcomestoinstallingand
dissemblingsolarpanelsaswellasrecyclingcompaniesfollowingthehighestandmost
currentstandards.Furthermore,thesedisposalprogrammeswillbecommunicatedtoall
relevantcontractorsandtheendcustomerstoensurenosolarpanelsaredisposed
unsustainably.
Inordertomeetlegalrequirementsandstaycompliant,LuvSolarbecomesamemberofthe
SolarIndustryassociationaswellastheSwedishSolarEnergyAssociationandthe
EuropeanAssociationforSolarcompanies.Thisensuresthelatestchangesand
developmentsregardinglawsandstandardsondifferentlevels(Swedennational,EUwide)
arereceivedandcanbeimplementedtomeetcompliance.
Inordertofurtherdeveloptheenvironmentalprogrammeathand,thestatedobjectivesshall
bereviewedevery6monthsandresultscommunicatedinaroundtablewiththeCEOand
theboard.
B. Resources,RolesandResponsibility
Giventhenatureofthestartup,themissionandvisionpromoteenvironmentalstewardship.
Therefore,itistheroleofallinvolvedinthecompanytoadheretoandpromotetheLuvSolar
environmentalpolicyandprogramme.
Individualsshouldallocate510%ofworktimetoensuringcompliancetotheoutlined
environmentalprogramme.Specifictrainingswilloccurbiannuallytoensureunderstanding
andenhanceemployeeskillswithintheenvironmentalrealm.

Instructionsonhowtomanagetheoffsetofairtravelemissions
1. LuvSolarcommitstocutitsgreenhousegasemissions(CO2e)by20%by2017.
2. NeverthelesscausedgreenhousegasemissionsareoffsetbyLuvSolarasdescribed
inchapterIVA.
3. Inordertobeabletocalculatetheyearlygreenhousegasemissionscausedby
businesstrips(viaairtravel)ofLuvSolaremployees,thesehavetobeaggregated.
4. Thus,everyemployeeofLuvSolarhastosubmithisorhertravelleddistance,thetype
oftransportaswellasthestartandendpointwiththeformprovidedinthecompanys
intranet(seeadministration>travels).
5. Adatabasecalculatestheaggregateddistancesandtherespectiveoverall
greenhousegasemissions.
6. Thechieffinancialofficer(CFO)andtheCEOhaveaccesstothedatabaseinorder

toerroneousemissionstrendsandtosteertheemployeestravelbehaviour.During
thelastmeetingoftheyearinthefourthquarternewgoalsregardingyearlyemissions
andemissioncutsforthefollowingyearshallbeset.

XI. EmergencyPreparedness
Severalpotentialeventscanbeofsuchamagnitudeandseveritytobecalledanemergency.
Thescenariopresentedhereisoneofextremeweatherconditionswhichdamagemanyof
therecipientssolarpanels(suchasstormwinds,hailstorm,ortornados).
Scenario
Inthecaseofextremeweatherconditions,preparationsarenecessaryforLuvSolarnotdue
tothefinancialdamagessufferedbytherecipients,asthesearecoveredbythehomeowner
insurances,butratherforthedisposalandreplacementofthedamagedpanels.Inthecase
ofthisscenario,manyrecipientswouldneedinformationonhowtodisposeofthepanelsin
themostenvironmentallybeneficialway,aswellasinformationonwhennewpanelscanbe
installedquickly.

Theinformationofhowtodisposeofthepanelsiscontainedinthecountryspecific
disposalprogrammesthataredevelopedasLuvSolarentersanewcountry.Salesofficers

Trackingofnonconformitiesareimportantwithintwobroadareastoensureupdated
informationregardingthedynamiclegalsituationonthewebsiteandtoidentifyinternal
nonconformitiesofimproperinformationgiventostakeholders.
Legislationaffectingsolarpanelsisdevelopingdynamicallyondifferentlevelsindifferent
