School History

Bayog Elementary School was established 1949 by the late Isidro V. Bautista Sr. the school
was formerly situated at Sitio Naliwangan with only 2 teachers with multi-grade classes, from
grades 1 to grades III. The former school site was just away from the Barangay proper surrounded
with rice fields and big rivers. The lot was temporarily donated by one of the rich family in that
sitio. Later on when it was observed that the school site is not accessible to children because of
poor enrolment the Barangay council thru the effort of the Barangay Captain made a resolution to
the city mayor requesting the transfer from sitio Naliwangan to Barangay Bayog proper. The donor
the late Don Carlos Fellicer was very willing to donate 10,000 square meters from his land. So by
1954, the former school site was transferred to Barangay Bayog which Primary School with a
population of 125 pupils from grades I-IV composed of 3 teachers. Since then, enrolment become
big and had increased to 750 pupils. Due to an increase in student population the school officials
opened grades V and VI making it a complete elementary school. With cooperative parents,
dedicated teachers and supportive stakeholders the school is now beginning to develop and
progressive. The school at present owns rice fields which yield 35 cavans of rice a year which is the
source of income generation for the improvement of the school.
