Pakistan Railways (PR) and Maple Leaf has signed an agreement according to which PR will transport cement from Daud Khal to Karachi on daily basis and later would deposit Rs 650 million as security with it. The agreement was signed by General Manager Operation Pakistan Railways, Anjum Pervaiz in the presence of federal Minister for PR, Khawaja Saad Rafique on Monday.
While talking to media, Raqique said a good number of companies are ready to do business with PR and their requests are under consideration. The PR signed agreement initially for three years with Maple Leaf and it would help freight business to make operational. The PR would transport cement to Karachi and would bring back coal for coal fire energy plants in Punjab on same trains.
