Learning Experiences:
1. Teacher led lesson. Whole class activity. Talk about Anh Do, how he came
from Vietnam. (Show on map, location) Why he came to Australia? How
he came? Use map key codes for location and possible route travelled by
the fishing boat. (Ask students how you could show this on the map (why,
do it this way?).
2. Have students write this information down in geography book.
o Name
o Location
o Why?
o How?
3. Then move students into pre-assigned groups for 15-20mins rotation.
4. Students are required: to find information out on other refugees and
immigrates through stories (as above and then plot on map).
5. When all students have completed all rotations, the class regroups and
share in front of the class one of the rotations.
6. This will allow students to evaluate and make informed choices on the
actions they took in the decisions they made.
