- If you have not already turned in the permission slip for your child to
attend the pumpkin patch this Friday, please turn it in ASAP.

- We will be having Chief Moffett from the Pittsfield Fire Station give a
fire safety presentation on Monday. This week is Fire Prevention
Week and a great time for your family to discuss action plans.

Curriculum Corner
LITERACY
READING: Students will continue to be bringing home their reading
folder each day. Certain students will also be bringing home a paper
that needs to be completed after finishing their book and returned to
school the next day. During Reading Workshop we are working on
having conversations with our reading partner. You can support this
at home by talking about books after you have finished reading them.
Some sentence starters we use are: ____ was my favorite part
because ___, I liked/didnt like the character ____ because, This
book reminded me of _____.

WRITING: Students will be working on their small moment stories and
making sure to zoom in on a particular moment. The pictures
students brought to school help us tremendously with this task!

MATH
We are continuing to work on addition, with students confidently being
able to find combinations of ten. The website TenMarks is a great
way to support your child with math concepts. If you have lost your
childs username and password, please send me an email and I can
forward the information on.
