The NHR Tracking table is used to track traffic (sessions) destined for the actual device
whenthat traffic comes across a load balanced NHRs (Next Hop Routers) or Firewalls(for
FireProof). For example, managing the device means creating a session aimed at the device
itself.
This session cant be stored in the Client Table.
When managing the device remotely, the session is established using one of the
configuredNHRs. The NHR Tracking Table will track that session and return packets through
the correctNHR.
If you receive the message "WARNING NHR Tracking Table has reached its size limit!", thenthe
size of the NHR Tracking Table requires tunning. If not tuned, then when the tracking table
isfull, new entries will not be added and reply packets for these sessions will be sent according
tothe Routing table.
In such a case it is not guaranteed that the response will be forwarded to the NHR from which
thetraffic originated. The NHR Tracking Table has a tuning option in the tuning folder. The
minimum and default size is 128 entries. The maximum size is 4,096.Status and aging time are
configurable.
The default of 128 entries might be a bit low in some environments. Depending on your
othersettings and specific environment, the recommended value is 2,048.
