This document outlines an assignment for a basic electronics course covering digital logic circuits, flip-flops, counters, shift registers, digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital converters, timers, and modulation techniques. The 10 questions cover topics like simplifying logic functions with K-maps, designing flip-flops with NAND gates, building counters and shift registers, explaining the operation of converters, using a 555 timer chip, performing amplitude modulation and frequency modulation, and calculating relevant parameters.

1. Simplify the following logic function using K-map to get minimum number of terms, and implement the simplified function using only NAND gates. f (A,B,C) = (0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 7)
2. Draw the circuit and truth table of SR flip-flop using NAND gates. Show how to convert from SR to D flip-flop.
3. Draw the circuit of master-slave JK flip-flop using NAND gates, and give its truth table. How is JK different from SR flip-flop?
4. Draw the circuit and timing diagram of 3-bit ripple counter using JK flip-flops.
5. Show how four D flip-flops can be connected to form a 4-bit shift register. Explain its operation.
6. Draw the circuit of binary-weighted D-A converter and give the expression for its output voltage.
7. Draw the circuit of flash A-D converter and give its conversion table.
8. Show how 555 timer IC can be connected to operate as astable multivibrator, and draw its relevant waveforms. If R A = 2.2 k, R B = 6.8 k, and C = 0.01 F, determine the frequency of output waveform.
9. An audio signal 10 sin (2 1000 t) modulates (AM) a carrier signal 40 sin (2 20,000 t). Find the modulation index, side-band frequencies, side-band amplitudes, bandwidth, and total power delivered to a 100 resistor load.
10. A carrier signal 10 cos (2 9010 6 t) is frequency modulated by an audio signal 5 cos (2 1500 t). Frequency sensitivity is 1 kHz/V. Calculate the frequency deviation, modulation index, bandwidth, and write the FM equation.
