I agree "writing courses really don't help my writing" is a myth.

It is simply common
sense that practice improves a skill. The former part of the myth "good writers are born
not made", I am indecisive about. I dont mean to say that there are no good writers that
are made, but there are people that are born with the talent, want, and ability to flourish in
writing. They of course also have to "practice" to improve like anyone else, but they seem
to take leaps and bounds when everyone is slowly trudging forward. I believe that
everyone has the ability to be a good writer except it will take some people more effort to
achieve greatness.
