CHRIST THE REDEEMER


The statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil, was created by the French sculptor Paul
Landowski and built by the engineer Heitor da
Silva Costa Brazil in collaboration with the
French engineer Albert Caquot.
It is 30 metres tall, not including its 8-metre
pedestal, and its arms stretch 28 metres wide.
The statue weighs 635 tonnes and is located at
the peak of the 700-metre Corcovado mountain
in the Tijuca Forest National Park overlooking
the city. A symbol of Brazilian Christianity, the
statue has become an icon for Rio de Janeiro
and Brazil. It is made of reinforced concrete and
soapstone, and was constructed between 1922
and 1931.


2. THE STATUE OF LIBERTY

The statue of Liberty was built in
France in 1886.It is in New York, USA.
The statue weighs 228,456 tones and
it is 93 meters tall. It is on the Liberty
island. It is in the entrance of the
harbor of New York . In the base of
the statue there is a museum. Franch
gave it to the USA as a present.
