Digital citizenship can be defined as


appropriate behavior that represents the
responsible, ethical and legal approach that
individuals take in any situation with respect
to the use of IT.
A digital citizen refers to a person that
participates in society using information
technology, to qualify for this a person must
have a means of digital tools such as
computers or mobile phones.
The key aspects where digital citizenship can
be applied are in key areas such as:
1. Digital Commerce: electronic buying and
selling of goods.
2. Digital Communication: electronic
exchange of information.
3. Digital Security (self-
protection): electronic precautions to
guarantee safety.
