Hall of Fame Nomination Form

In memory of Andrew Andy Morris (1980-2008) and Melvin Mel Walter Morris (1951-2010) the 2012
Inaugural Broadway High School Hall of Fame is established. Andy, a son of Melvin and Letitia Morris, was a
member of the Class of 1998. He was a three-sport athlete for each year in high school, competing in golf,
basketball, and baseball. Mel was a HPE teacher, department chair, and coached girls basketball, boys basketball,
and baseball, serving BHS for 16 years before becoming an Athletic Director at Waynesboro High School in 2002.
The BHS Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding contributions by athletes, coaches, and community supporters.
Inducted members are invited to an annual banquet and memorialized with a Hall of Fame display of plaques
located in the schools Athletic Hall.

Who can be nominated?

Any player, coach, or supporter of Broadway Athletics.

What are the criteria for nomination?

1) All nominees must be in good community standing.
2) Players cannot be nominated until 10 years after high school graduation. There are no time limits for all
other nominees, but it is suggested that staff members have completed their work at BHS five years prior to
induction and have served at least 8 years. Community supporters are inducted based on their contributions
to BHS athletics.
3) Previous nominations will be reviewed each year and need not be resubmitted.
4) Nominees must have had a major impact on their sport and/or Broadway Athletics.

The deadline for applications for a nomination within a current year is June 1st.
