Nakehya completed her Associate in
Applied Science in Nursing at the Univer-
sity of South Carolina in 2005. She has
been certified in wound care since 2009,
and she has served in the healthcare field
for more than 18 years. Her background
includes neuro, geriatric, and wound care.
Out of college, Nakehya worked as a
staff nurse in a local hospital. She then
migrated back to long-term care as a staff
development nurse. She then pursued a
new challenge and became a Director of
Nursing (DON). In 2010, her career as a
licensed administrator began here in South
Carolina. After four years in nursing home
administration, Nakehya was challenged to
make a career change because she recog-
nized the need for an affordable training
facility to help meet the need for well-
trained nursing assistants. TLC-Training
for Long-term Care was born from this
desire.
A special thanks to her wonderful hus-
band Don Stanton, and their four beauti-
ful children Donte, Tyler, Trysten and
Trinity . Without their love and support,
none of this would be possible. May God
be honored and glorified in all that we do.
Prerequisites: Must be able to read and
write English (minimum 6th grade level);
must be 18 years of age or older; must
be able to provide transportation to class
and clinical setting; must have a negative
1 or 2 step PPD (tuberculin skin test);
and a recent SLED background check.

Class Schedule
Morning
Monday - Friday
8:00 am til 12:00 pm

Afternoon
Monday - Friday
1:00 pm til 5:00 pm
Training for Long-term Care
NATP
Required Instruction
Classroom/Lab: 60 hours (3 weeks)
Clinical Instruction: 40 hours (2 weeks)
Total Course = 100 hours (5 weeks)

Class sessions are offered every five weeks;

licensed by the South Carolina Commis-
sion on Higher Education; it is not equal to
or synonymous with accreditation by an
accrediting agency recognized by the U.S.
Department of Education.

TLC Training for Long-term Care Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP)
Our purpose is to provide a superior
level of knowledge and hands-on
experience to effectively teach CNA
candidates how to safely deliver high-
quality nursing-related services to
residents of long-term care facilities.
The nurse aide trainee role is to
passionately study and prepare for the
state certification exam in anticipation
of CNA employment opportunities
such as personal care aides, nursing
assistants in long-term care or
hospital settings, home health aides,
and assisted living attendants.
Completion of a nurse aide training
program does not guarantee a passing
grade on the state nurse aide
competency test.
Annual Class Sessions
Currently, TLC offers ten annual morning
class sessions. The next five-week
session is scheduled for Monday,
November 17, 2014

Cost
Course cost of $825.00 includes tuition,
textbook, and SLED background check.

Two Payment Options
Student may:
Pay tuition in full upon
registration for the class,
OR
$425 at registration; $400 by the
end of the second week of class.
(TLC holds to the state regulated refund policy.)

Clinical Requirements
Student must purchase a program
uniform, black or white shoes, and
a watch with a second hand.


Training Facility
Individual student desks, a fully equipped
residents room for lab use, a break room
and garden area, and a convenient down-
town Greer location with a maximum of 8
students per class offers an ideal training
facility for the nurse aide training program.
