OUTLINE
Demonstrate the FACE OFF game with a student. Students add 2 dice rolls
together then place a counter on the total, both students to create a frequency
graph for all sums.
Discuss which numbers can appear?
(e.g. Can you get a 13? How many times can you get a 4 or a 12?)
Outline how to record the information in their frequency graphs
EXPLORE
Class/Group/Prtnr/Indv
Outline the rewards for outstanding behaviour (new activities to record frequency),
consequences for misbehaviour (individual work, station 2, lunch time)
Students receive resources and begin.
RECORD
Guide students to record the frequency in graphs
EXTRA PLAY
New board games to record frequency graphs with or challenge students to create
a game with dice or cards and record the frequency in a graph

Class/Group/Prtnr/Indv
If time allows, give students a game of THE BOX to identify the frequency with a
graph
SHOW
Class/Group/Prtnr/Indv
Show the frequency graph their board games before going to lunch
