Dojo will travel along with each class to all areas of the building including: hallways, cafeteria,
recess, etc.

Positive:
Points are banked at the end of each school week into Patriot Pay and then reset on Class Dojo.
Each positive point will be banked into the students Patriot account. The students will withdraw
from their account to buy items from the class or school store.
Needs Work:
All students start their clips on Red (Ready to Learn). If a student receives two warnings, their clip
will be moved to White (Think Sheet Reflection Time) in which students will reflect on the behavior
that needs worked on. The Think Sheet will be filed into their personal folder. If the behavior
continues to need work and results in 3 points or more, the child will then complete a Respect Essay
that will be signed by the child, teacher, and parents. The Respect Essay is to be returned the
following school day.

RESPECT ESSAY
Directions: Please copy this essay onto a piece of lined paper. Be sure to put your name and date in the
right hand corner of your paper and title your paper Respect Essay. After you have completed the
assignment, staple this paper to your essay and turn it in to Miss Allem.

We all need and deserve to be respected. However, we cannot respect others when we do not respect
ourselves. When you are rude, put people down, talk negatively, or insult people, you are hurting your
respect for yourself as well as for others.

Everyone needs to feel good about themselves in order to get along with others. When someone does not
feel good about him or herself, he or she speaks and acts in ways that hurts others. When you dont feel
good about yourself, everyone loses.

We all have bad days. We have to remember to treat people with respect, even if we are not feeling very
good about ourselves. When you automatically treat people with respect, you help everyone feel better
about themselves.

How can I treat people with respect automatically?

1. Ignore them when they say or do something that hurts my feelings.
2. Dont argue or fight with someone who is obviously not feeling good about him/herself.
3. Overlook it when someone is trying to tease me to get me mad.
4. Dont say things in anger count to ten before I speak or dont say anything until the anger has
passed.
5. Put myself in the other persons place and try to understand what their point of view is.
6. Treat others as I would like to be treated.
7. Use it as a motivator.

This is what I said/did that showed disrespect to my classmates and/or teacher:

I understand that one of the major expectations in this classroom and school is to respect others. I will
work harder to abide by that policy in the future.
