Late Work Policy
Major Grade assignments and Daily Grade assignments will be accepted late based on the following
guidelines:
o 1 Day late= Maximum grade of 80%
o 2 Days Late=Maximum grade of 60%
o 3 Days Late-Maximum grade of 50%
Assignments turned in later than 7 days will not be accepted for a grade.

Test Retake Policy
Students wishing to retake a test for credit agree to the following:
Only 1 test may be retaken per 9 weeks grading period.
The maximum grade on a retake is 70%
Only the retake score will be recorded.
Retakes must be completed after-school in the FSC.
No retakes will be scheduled after the Wednesday prior to the end of the 9 weeks grading period.

Electronic Device Policy
I understand that the electronic device policy is zero tolerance. All offenses result in an immediate referral: no
exceptions, no excuses. Texting parents, checking the time, etc. are unacceptable from bell-to-bell. If students
have extenuating circumstances, they must discuss it and receive permission BEFORE class begins.

Student Daily Responsibilities
I understand that it is my responsibility to:
Actively seek out makeup work for the days I am absent before class and turn-in according to
CISD policy as outlined in the Student Handbook and your course syllabus.
Bring my supplies every day, including my notebook/binder, writing utensils and any
assignments, none will be provided or stored in the classroom.
Acquire needed duplicate copies by visiting the teachers website and either printing or
handwriting an additional copy.
Go to the bathroom and take care of any errands before class. I may not leave class without
being summoned from the office, barring a medical emergency.
Monitor my own learning and academic progress by keeping up with graded assignments and
using Student Access, and requesting help as needed before the day of the exam.

Work Ethic and Behavior
This is a Pre-AP classroom, designed to prepare students for the expectations of a college-level classroom.
Work Ethic: Students are expected to arrive prepared for class on time by studying regularly,
completing homework, assignments and projects in a timely manner, requesting help as needed,
and using the academic tools and strategies provided to them. Students should never arrive to
class unaware that there is a test, quiz, lab or project.
Behavior: Students are expected to act in a well-behaved and mature manner. Behavior that is
disruptive to student learning will not be tolerated and is subject to immediate disciplinary
action.

Supplies Required for Pre-AP Biology (May vary slightly between teachers)
The following supplies should be used for Biology only as they will have to be turned in
periodically:
1 Three-Ring Binder
2 Spiral notebooks (at least 80ct)-Mrs. White
2 Composition notebooks-Mrs. Parks
These supplies may be shared with other classes:
Loose leaf Paper
Blue/Black Pens
Pencils, erasers and pencil sharpeners
Four-function calculator (see example image)
Colored pencils, markers and/or crayons
Optional, but desirable:
Scissors, ruler and glue sticks
Personal Kleenex, hand sanitizer, etc
We also accept and greatly appreciate donations of paper towels, Kleenex and
hand sanitizer.
