ISOMETRIC DRAWING

It should not be confused with 3D Solid model


drawing.
It is a 2D method of describing objects in
pictorial form.
SETTING ISOMETRIC SNAP
Before starting isometric drawing, must set Snap to isometric style:

Command: snap, ENTER
Specify snap setting or [On/OFF/Aspect]: type in s for style,
ENTER
Enter snap grid style [Standard/Isometric]: type i for isometric,
ENTER
Specify vertical snap: Type 5, ENTER

Check out the cursor hair line. It will now be set in isometric
pattern.
There 3 main positions when working in this setting. Use Ctrl-E or F5
to toggle between isometric top, iso-right or iso-left.

Isometric Circles
When drawing circles in isometric, the result will be an
ellipse.
To ensure that the ellipse is an isometric circle every time
Ellipse command is called, the setting I must be used.

Command: ellipse
Then type in i (for isocircle), ENTER
Specify radius:.

Try to construct an isocircle at the 3 different positions
(top, right, left).

To produce an isometric, it is advisable that you begin by sketching
out the isometric drawing complete with the vital dimensions to give
you an idea of how it would look like on AutoCAD. Once the sketch is
confirmed, you are then ready to start drawing using the software.
