Who is Henri Cartier-
Bresson?
A street photographer who first studied art
before becoming interested in
photojournalism.
He documented events such as the Spanish
Civil War, the assassination of Mahatma
Gandhi, as well as happenings throughout
Paris.
Took candid photos- pictures that arent
previously posed.
Even took portraits of Henri Matisse, Pablo
Picasso, and Ezra Pound.
Why he is an artist:
He applied techniques he
learned from art school
to his photography.
Captured life in the
moment. (i.e. people,
nature, etc.)
Shared what he
captured of different
countries with the
rest of the world.
Why I chose him:
I enjoy photography.
His photographs are only
black and white, and that
struck me and made me
focus on what he was
actually taking the
picture of.
The photograph doesnt interest me. I want only to capture
