Office of Sustainability Fall Intern Team

College Station, TX At the Texas A&M Office of Sustainability (OS), were always thinking about
creative and effective ways to increase student involvement. This semester, we will continue our
internship program. These internships provide experiential learning to students and generate
awareness of sustainability on campus. Since the start of the program in the summer of 2011, 34
students have filled 54 different positions. Among the current group are ten Outreach Specialists and
one marketing intern. The Outreach Specialists focus on interacting with the Texas A&M community
to encourage a culture of sustainability. They are broken up into two teams and use different outlets
to increase sustainability practices like energy and water use, recycling, and social justice. The office
interns range in both class year and major, from sophomores to seniors and environmental studies to
economics and psychology.
