2. In spite of notice, the Appellant was not present. The Respondents were
present and submitted that the desired information was not available with the
Rajya Sabha Secretariat and that the CPIO had informed the Appellant
accordingly. They further submitted that, unlike the Lok Sabha, the Rajya
Sabha seats were not reserved for any particular community or caste and,
therefore, they did not keep any information about the caste/tribe status of the
members. After carefully considering the facts of the case, we are satisfied that
the information provided by the CPIO is adequate and that there is nothing
more to be disclosed. The appeal is disposed of accordingly.
3. Copies of this order be given free of cost to the parties.
