Parents,
I cant believe we are almost finished with the
first quarter! The kids are doing great in so many
areas. They are really exploring letter patterns
and sounds. Their spelling is really improving.
They are also whizzing through their Minute
Math and making several connections in math.
Keep up the great work at home!
We started talking about our Pen Pal project this
week. Bay City, Michigan is the sister city to
Ansbach. It is also the city I grew up in. I
contacted my old elementary school and we will
begin writing to Mrs. Heinz second grade class
this week. Each student in our class has been
paired with a student in Mrs. Heinz class. The
students attend Hampton elementary school.
We have already looked at their schools website
to compare their school to our school. We
learned how long their school day is each day
and we also discovered they have pizza delivered
on Mondays! Once we have our letters written, I
am sending a package off. I have already gotten
a Rainbow shirt for the teacher. I would love to
add other items for the class. If you would like to
send something for the class, please let me
know.
A few quick reminders:
If your child goes to SAS, please pay close
attention to their training days and make
sure you send me a note to let me know
what bus students will ride as an
alternative.
Flu vaccines will be next week!
The weather is all over the place, please
make sure your child has the appropriate
attire for chilly days.
