During the first week of school the school social
worker does an introduction to all classes so they
know what her duties are at the school and where
her office is located in case anyone needs to use
her services.

A confidentiality definition is hanging on the wall of the
office of the school social worker to remind all that what
is said in the room is kept private. Also no gossip or
personal information about students is shared to
maintain the relationship.

Obtaining a copy of the dress code to make sure to
dress appropriately in the office. Addressing all in the
work place with a pleasant tone and creating
conversation.

While on the phone with clients my supervisor
listens to make sure my tone and information are
correct while speaking. After I am done with the
conversation I occasionally ask if what I said was
good or should I have come about it in a different
way.
