An Introduction to

Industrial Rubber based

Rings

Rubber industries manufacture a wide
assorted range of industrial rings that offer
numerous mechanical usages in machines to
ensure both static and dynamic application.
O Rings, a major industrial ring used as seals in
machines. It features flexibility, reliability, cost less,
easy to make and offers simple mounting
application.

The ring efficiently seal tens
of megapascals (thousands of psi) of pressure.

There are different modes of production of O-rings
which include injection molding, extrusion, pressure
molding or transfer molding.

Construction of ring greatly rely on the area of
usage. The specification for manufacturing rubber
ring based on the diameter and thickness of the
ring.

The selection of ring based on the following
parameters:
Chemical compatibility
Application temperature
Sealing pressure
Lubrication requirements
Durometer
Size and Cost
The U rings can tolerate a wide range of
temperatures ranging for -20C to +120C (-4F
to +248F).

Similarly, like other industrial rings U rings also
used for sealing purpose. The ring is best know
for offering low dynamic friction to the
equipment or machine attached.

Symmetrical rings are used in piston while
asymmetrical rings offers usage in rods.
