Mountings

FIRTST DRAFT
1) Most of the mountings will be welded on the chassis, it will provide firmness to the
mounting and will also keep it rigid.
2) The Engine and Gear box assembly will be mounted on a plate which will be welded on the
bars connected to the chassis. The engine and gear box assembly will be mounted on the
plate using nuts and bolts and will also use a damper if required.
3) The seat will be bolted on the seat bracket which will be welded to the chassis.
4) The fire extinguisher holder will be welded on the chassis or it can be externally clamped
onto it. We require 2 of them. So 1 will be inside the cockpit and other will be near the
engine bay for the team.
5) The kill switch will be near the steering wheel which will be easy for the driver to reach and
one will be on the top end Drivers right side of the vehicle.
6) The break light must be easily visible and should be mounted at a height and should be at 90
degrees from the ground.
7) The belly pan must be installed according to the rules. It may be bolted or may be welded
but welding is preferred as it will provide rigidity and unwanted vibrations will be avoided.
8) The seat belt will be having at least 3 points and will be connected to a single metal-to-metal
quick release lever type buckle.
9) Fuel pumps are not allowed, so the fuel tank must be mounted at a height so that the fuel
can easily flow into the engine.
10) The fuel tank must be covered using metal sheets to keep it safe and away from the engine.
