WTL Techniques

Students are to bring in 3 props to use to brainstorm a story. Students will write a
short story based on the items they have. Under 1000 words. Each element needs to
play a specific role in writing the story.


In pairs, create an interview dialogue that has a plotline to a real or fictional
situation. Students should use academic terms used in the info text to answer and
ask the questions. Its a breaking news story! The transcript of the interview will be
handed in

Stream of consciousness or free write. Students will be given a topic or question and
they should write everything they know about it. Ex. Storyteller or What comes to
mind when you hear storyteller?
