The Items Used During the Celebration of

Mass
During the celebration of Mass the Priest uses receptacles and utensils to hold the consecrated Body and
Blood of Christ, these are called sacred vessels. These are the chalice and paten. The sacred vessels are to be
treated with special care and reverence. Sacred vessels are designed in a way to make it apparent that they
are to be used for liturgical purposes only and are not for everyday use.
