DNA Learning Center

http://www.dnalc.org/resources/3d/index.html
Specifically, this link takes students to a 3D animation video on transcription/translation. This video
gives a lot of information through auditory explanation and video. This resource comes from a
dependable organization that has information about so many scientific concepts. It also has resources
for teachers and parents. This would be a website I would look more into when needed extra material
for a lesson. There is so much information that it covers many special days in the science field. The
video linked would be important when studying genetics and celebrating the finding of DNA or the
decoding of the human genome.
NOVA beta PBS
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/body/making-vaccines.html
This is an interactive activity that allows students to make vaccines from different pathogens. The
creation of the first vaccine is a notable day in the science field. This interactive activity will help those
who learn best with a hands-on approach. Also, the information is presented through small notes which
would help a visual learner.
NASA
http://www.nasa.gov/ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zsf4NXcE4Qg
Our first time in space, and the arms race leading up to and continuing after, was a monumental point in
time for science. The NASA website offers current news and events (for the visual learner), multimedia
presentations (the audio and visual learner) and suggested ideas for hands-on experience (tactile
learner). This website, and accompanying video, are helpful in the classroom of astronomy and can be
used to help educate about our nations past space experience and what is to come in the future.
