Week of October 25-29, 2014
Reading
This week we will begin a new spelling
program which will focus beyond the
simple memorization of the spelling of
words, but also include attention to
the understanding of sound and
spelling patterns. This will assist
students in becoming not only better
spellers, but also better writers.
Math
We are continuing unit two
of the Everyday Math pro-
gram, relating to estima-
tion and computation. This
weeks focus continues
with number stories (math
problems involving sen-
tences and the use of vari-
ables), followed by estima-
tion and probability exer-
cises.
