Siopao
Siopao is a Filipino steamed bun with meat filling. It is a
larger version of Chinese dumplings. Traditionally, the two kinds
of siopao are asado - is made with pork or beef cooked in soy
sauce and seasonings and bola-bola is made with pork and
Chinese sausage, which are baked with egg and flour. The dough is
made from rice flour. Asado is the most popular kind, and can be
found in the Philippines at both street vendors and restaurants. The
convenience of being able to eat this dish with one hand is part of
its appeal. Other kinds can be made, and the fillings for siopao are
limitless.
The Round scad is a cigar-shaped fish, with greenish
coloration on top and white below. Their opercles usually have a
small, black spot. The Round scad has nine spines on its dorsal
fin and 30 to 34 soft rays. Their anal fins have only three spines and
2629 soft rays. Round scad often have a yellow stripe running from
the head to the caudal peduncle. The longest Round scad recorded
was 30 centimeters long, which is not far from the average
estimated adult length of 12 inches (30.48 cm). It is claimed that the
heaviest recorded specimen weighed 300 grams.
The study will serve as basis of making a siopao using the
galunggong fish meat as substitute to pork or beef meat, since the
pork and beef has already high price, by using of other alternative meat
products like fish meat you can save more money because the fish
meat is more cheaper than the pork or beef meat so it will also help the
consumer or vendors to budget their money most especially on the
coastal areas whose selling fishes. The fish is also rich in omega 3.
