(LISTENING)LESSON PLAN YEAR 3

Theme: World of Knowledge


Topic: Animals
Content Standards: 1.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to
pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm
and intonation.

Learning Standards : 1.1.1 Able to speak with correct word stress.
1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and recite rhymes,tongue twisters and
sing songs paying attention to pronunciation, rhythm and
intonation.

1.1.4 Able to talk about a stimulus with guidance.
Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
(i) talk about a picture.
(ii) answer Wh-questions.
(iii) Sing a song
Cross-curricular elements: Constructivism
Teaching Aids: Picture, sounds of animals, song
Steps:
Pre-Listening
1. Show pictures of animals.
2. Guide pupils to talk about the picture. Ask questions:
Eg: What can you see in the picture?
Can you name the animals in the picture?
While-Listening
3. Play the animals song.
4. Pupils recognize the name of animals from the song. Ask questions:
Eg: What can you hear from the song?
Can you name the animals based on the song?
5. Pupils sing the song together.
6. Teacher highlights the names of animals from the song.
7. Repeat the whole song and ask pupils to fill in the blanks.
Eg: cat, duck, cow, and sheep



Post-Listening
8. Teacher shows flash cards showing the sound of the animals
9. Pupils shout their answers with the class.
