THE BREAD AND THE SALT

For Romanians the bread
(the symbol of life) and the salt
(the "Mother of God) were
two sacred elements from
ancient times.
Grain, flour,
dough and bread are
finally loaded
symbolism as old but
in the same time very
present in the rural
world, being a sign of
joy, fruitfulness,
wealth, and purity.
Taking many forms, the bread
accompanies man through life, in moments
of joy - at weddings, and in sad moments
