The most important for the teacher to consider is the content of the text used. The text is suitable to be taught in the Year 3 because firstly it suits the topic of the lesson that is Technology At Home. The text is not too lengthy and is appropriate for the proficiency level of a year 3 pupils. The text also is chosen based on the content itself. The vocabulary used is simple and not too complex to understand. Moreover, the meaning is clear enough for the pupils to comprehend once they read the complete sentence. With simple and understandable text, it really encourages the pupils to read and notice the form. By that the information in the text is delivered more effectively to the reader. Thus this exercise will provide variety of opportunities for recognizing and practicing for the pupils. For this lesson, the exercise focus on sentence structures and recognizing new vocabularies. In the passage as well, teacher had highlighted few words that are new to the pupils. By doing this, the teacher can notice how far the understanding of the pupils about the text given to them by asking them questions and explaining to them about the highlighted words in the text. Spelling and vocabulary are one of the important aspects in learning English. In order to check on my pupils spelling skill, I used pictures as well. This is because I need to consider the age of the pupils and their proficiency level in English. English is not the native language amongst my pupils, so I have to choose appropriate vocabulary to suit their language level. Pictures really help the pupils when it comes to spelling. This is because visual intelligence plays an important aspect in memorizing facts.
