Student Council?
What will you be doing as part of the
Student Council?
Leading by example
Setting standards for other students to follow
Be involved in Fund Raisers for the school
Help organize school events
Help make GIS an Eco friendly school

You will need to stay back after school every Sunday
until 3:45 pm and give up some of your breaks to
organize things.

The Process
8 students from Grade 5 and 4 from Grade 4 will be elected
by their peers.
Anyone can stand for elections.
You have to give a 2 minute speech in front of your class;
explain how you will contribute as a Student Council
member. Use the Learner Profile to reflect on this. e.g. I will
be a Caring member of the school by .
The class votes for interested candidates.
Each student has two votes ( you cannot vote for your self).
Elected members will be announced by Ms. Radhika.

Thursday 29

October.
Start thinking about your speech and writing it up.
The day for speeches and elections will be announced
shortly. (next week)
