0 CONCLUSION

In conclusion, the main objectives of this experiment were successfully achieved.
Following this laboratory it is evident that the pressure profile and flow characteristics for
flow around a circular cylinder had been relate with the results that obtained. As a result, in
irrotational incompressible flow past a circular cylinder without circulation, such a flow can
be generated by adding a uniform flow, in the positive x direction to a doublet at the origin
directed in the negative x direction. Based on the graph pressure versus angle in test 1, the
pressure difference is at maximum value which is 584.52 Pa at 70
o
while in the meantime,
the pressure difference is at the minimum value which is -23.06 Pa is at 0
o
. From the
experiment that have been carried out, the maximum and minimum coefficient of pressure
were 3.1393 and -0.5883 respectively for test 1. Otherwise, based on the test 2, the maximum
and minimum coefficient of pressure were 3.7278 and 0.1962 respectively. On the other
hand, from the sample calculations that have been shown in result analysis, the pressure drag
for test 1 (which are obtained from the graph of C
p
cos versus Angle, (rad)) are managed
to get for about -6.24 and the drag coefficient C
D
supposed to get around 61.68. There are
slightly difference for the value of pressure drag at test 2 with test 1 which is around -5.59
while its drag coefficient are managed to get at the value of 13.81.
