There are three required ELA assessments set to deploy through PARCC.
What are they? Required Assessments 1. PBA (Proposed Dates 3/2/15- 3/27/15) Administered after 75% of the school year Extended tasks, applications of concepts and skills ELA - Writing effectively when analyzing text; research simulation Math - Solving multi-step problems requiring abstract reasoning, precision, perseverance and strategic use of tools 2. EOY (Proposed Dates 4/27/15- 5/22/15) Given after 90% of the school year Innovative, short-answer items ELA - Reading comprehension Math - Short items that address both concepts and skills 3. Speaking & Listening Assess how students are communicating, listening, and comprehending the ideas of others To be administered during the 2015-16 school year Flexible administration timeline Optional Assessments There are two optional assessments set to deploy through PARCC.

Here is a picture of the top toolbar. This is the pointer. It will allow you to highlight important information in four colors. This is an answer eliminator. These two buttons navigate to the next and previous question This is where specific IEP/504 accommodations can be found. Tools Here are pictures of the tools. Notice how students can eliminate answers they deem incorrect. The arrow tool allows students to select information and highlight it within the problem. Highlighter If you double-click information in the test or select word(s), a highlighter will open up. You will have the option of highlighting in white, yellow, pink, and blue. Highlight Away! Review and Flag Click on the Review button in order to see all questions in your current section. You will see the status of the question. o This will tell you whether or not you answered it. You also will see if you Flagged the question. o On each individual question, you can hit the Flag button. You can do this so you remember to go back. Review and Flag Make sure to really understand how this works. If you answer a question, this will appear in the Status section . . .
