Elements and Structure of a News Article

Enduring Understating:
Although there is no prescribed organizational structure for the news article, most articles have a similar
structure. This structure serves an important purpose. It allows readers to access the information easier, and
provides journalists will an easy format to follow when writing articles. Additionally, there are specific
Structure elements that journalist must include in their articles to make them accurate, credible, and informative.
Knowing these elements, and understanding the need for them in an article enables readers to evaluate a given
journalist’s work.
