Where am I supposed to sit? Teachers should have a seating chart to cut down on confusion and it helps the teacher learn the names of students. 3. What are the rules in this classroom? Rules are established to have order in the classroom. The rules should be clear and concise. Teachers should go over the rules daily. 4. What will I be doing this year? The teachers should explain what is expected of the students. The students should know the goals that are being set forth and strive to reach those goals. 5. How will I be graded? The teacher should have a clear policy on grading. This will help the student and parent be aware of the grading system. 6. Who is the teacher as a person? The teacher should share a little about themselves professionally. They should share their backgrounds on the subject matter to assure the students that they are competent. 7. Will the teacher treat me as a human being? It is important for the teacher to treat the students with respect. When the student feels comfortable, he or she will learn more.
