BEGINNING OF CLASS

EXPLAIN
State the Procedure:
Today we will learn how to begin class each day
General Rationale:
This is important because it will maximize class time and the students will have a
smooth transition when entering the room.
The purpose of this procedure is for everyone to know how to be effective when
starting class, which allows for more learning time.
Explain and Model the Procedure:
Go quietly and immediately to your assign seat and be in your seat when the bell
rings.
Get prepared for todays class.
Complete the bell ringer/warm-up exercise.
Turn in homework or assignments.
Teacher will start the lesson.
Check for Understanding:
What should you be doing to start class each day?
How should you start class each day?
REHEARSE
Several students (8-15) will model for the others the procedure for entering the
classroom.
Let them know how they did and what needs to be worked on.
REINFORCE
Remind them daily on what they did correctly and if there are corrections to be made
discuss them with the students.
