10/28/14 NASA Reflection On October 22 nd , our Computer and Instructional Technology class experienced a live video conference with NASA. The conference consisted of live dialogue between our class and a NASA representative. The activity included an in depth description and analysis of robotics. It discussed the making of such robots and how they can be integrated in modern life. The program also gave insight into the future goal of sending humans to Mars. The representative discussed how the use of these robots marks the beginning of making this dream a reality. The conference was an effective and unique form of interactive learning. The NASA conference is an interesting and creative concept. It was fascinating how the entire class could communicate to a man who was standing on the opposite side of the country. This form of communication would be a very exciting addition to my future classrooms. Live video conferences are exceptional because they allow an expert to come into the classroom and assist in the learning experience. This way of learning is better than a simple video since the representative can answer specific questions that the students have. The teacher, representative, and students all work together to explain and understand the material in a fun format. Overall, this experience was very memorable and would be a great use of technological integration in my future years as an educator.
