Description of Activity/Task/Experience that demonstrates I am at or above standard in
the specific skills for the standard mentioned above:
America is such a diverse country. On one street you can have a Mediterranean
restaurant next to a Mexican restaurant across the street from a burger joint. Not to
mention when you visit a public school, there are so many different linguistic speaking
people. To get into a 4-year college, its required to have 2 years of a foreign language.
My sophomore year I started dating a Hispanic, he introduced me to his whole family and
it amazed me how different he lived than I did. Their expectations, rules, food, home
living, etc. were all so different than my familys. And that is so weird to me considering
he only lives down the street from me. If I had to pick a word to describe Hillsboro, it
would be diversity.
Global Warming is said to be happening for years now. Some believe that it is not
a theory and that most of our world will flood. Others think it is a theory and the liberal
media is making things up to scare us. Even after research, it is hard to determine what is
true.

Explanation/Reflection of how the activity/task/experience described above meets or

exceeds the specific skills of the standard mentioned above:
Im glad to be living in a diverse environment. But while there are so many
benefits to living in America, there are also consequences. We might have to live in a
world in our generation that has been abused in other generations.
