Language Arts: We have started our
small reading groups and we are off
and running! This year Ill teach a small
phonics lesson to the class and then
reinforce the phonics skills your child
needs again in his or her reading group.
The comprehension skills we are
working on currently are identifying the
beginning, middle, and end of a story
and recounting the details of a story. In
writing, we are focused on opinion
pieces where the students are able to
express their opinions in their writing.
Students should be mindful of using
capitals, periods, and using spelling
books as a resource to help them when
needed.
