5 Simple Ways You Can Make This Lesson Stick With Your Kids
THIS WEEKS LESSON: HAVE A THANKFUL HEART
IN THE CAR: Ask your child what they learned about this week on the drive home: Today we talked about the importance of thankfulness. Thanksgiving is a special day set aside to thank God for our blessings, but as Christians, we need to be in the habit of thanking God for our blessings every day. HANGING OUT: Make this weeks lesson real: Take some time to list the things you are thankful for this week, and say a prayer of thanks together with the kids. AT DINNER: Here are some great discussion starters: - Why do you think only one leper went back to thank Jesus? - Is our lack of thankfulness because we arent grateful, or because we forget? - How can we remind ourselves to be more thankful? AT BEDTIME: Quiz your child on this weeks memory verse: Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. - Psalm 107:1 (NIV) PARENT TIME: What you need to know: Take some time this week to count your own blessings - beginning with your kids. Let God and your kids know what you are thankful for, and make thankfulness a part of your daily spiritual habit as well.
