Achal Raghavan

Achal Raghavan is a strategy and business excellence consultant based at Bangalore. His
areas of interest include strategy, M&As, operational excellence and business ethics.
Raghavan teaches as adjunct faculty at IIM Bangalore, visiting faculty at IIM Indore, and
guest faculty at IIM Ahmedabad. He has also been on the faculty team for several
executive training programmes conducted by IIM Bangalore.
Raghavan is also engaged in writing for business journals and publications. He is a
regular contributor to Vikalpa, the management journal published by IIM Ahmedabad,
and The Hindu Business Line, a business daily.
Raghavan acquired his bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian
Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras in 1973, and a PGDM from the Indian Institute of
Management (IIM), Ahmedabad in 1977. He has worked in various capacities in the
automotive and engineering industries in India for over 36 years, including 4 years as a
consultant.
He started his career in Larsen & Toubro. Subsequently, he has worked in the Anand
Group, Sundram Fasteners, Delphi Automotive Systems, Ingersoll-Rand, and Harita
Infoserve. At Delphi Automotive Systems and Ingersoll-Rand (India), he was a member
of the Board of Directors.
Raghavan has travelled to over 30 countries on business. His business experience
includes marketing, sales, purchasing, exports, operations, M&As, international
operations and general management.
