This document summarizes a study on parental knowledge of complete basic immunization for babies in Mendawai Street in Palangkaraya City, Indonesia. The study aimed to determine parental knowledge levels about immunizations for diseases like tuberculosis, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B, polio and measles. Most parents still did not understand the importance of immunization. The results found that of 30 parents surveyed, 2 had good knowledge, 8 had sufficient knowledge, and 20 had poor knowledge. This indicates that most parents' knowledge of complete basic immunization was lacking. The study recommends the local health center provide more information to parents on basic immunization for infants.

Growth and development of children can be optimally achieved if parents take measures of health care to the baby. One effort to do health care is the provision of basic immunization to infants to prevent diseases such as teberkulosis, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B, poliomyelitis and measles. Immunization is an attempt to get immunity against a disease, by inserting germs or bacteria products that have been attenuated or disabled. Today most of the parents still do not know the importance of immunization in infants so that parents are not too concerned immunization in children. This study aims to determine the level of parental knowledge about the complete basic immunization in infants in the Mendawai RT 01, 02, 03, 04 RW V Sub Sub Jekan Raya Palangkaraya Palangkaraya City in 2013. The study design used is descriptive with presenting events that occurred. Sampling used is the Simple Sampling Probability Sampling Ramdom sampling technique which is done in a random way without regard to the existing strata in the population members. The study was conducted on 13-14 May 2013. Researchers measuring the level of parental knowledge about the complete basic immunization consists of a good level of knowledge, sufficient and less. The data was collected using a questionnaire. Results of the study is the level of knowledge about the complete basic immunization in infants of 30 respondents, 2 respondents (7 percent) categorized well, 8 respondents (27 percent) categorized fairly, and 20 respondents (67 percent) categorized less. These results indicate that the level of parental knowledge about the majority categorized fully immunized less. Based on the results of the research proposed suggestions to the Hindu Hill Health Center is to provide information to parents on the basis of incomplete immunization in infants.
